OUR HISTORY
Founded by Railroad People.
Velocity’s roots trace back to 1996, when two former railroad employees established Quality Rail Service (QRS). Built on an understanding of railroad operations and the specialized requirements of locomotive fueling, the business provided essential services directly where locomotives needed them. That rail-specific expertise established the foundation for the organization Velocity has become.

Locomotive fueling remains the foundation of Velocity’s business. Since our railroad-focused beginnings in 1996, we have expanded into routine locomotive servicing, replenishment, selected mechanical repairs and railcar support. Purpose-built equipment, field teams and Eagle Eye technology help coordinate these services around customer operating requirements.
